Working In Two’s In Acts
Acts 3:1 (NIV) One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer--at three in the afternoon.
Acts 13:2 (NIV) While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. ” Acts 15:36-40 (NIV) Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” |
Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. Notice anything here? That is right! Jesus, during disciple training, sent His disciples in twos and the pattern was followed right on through the book of Acts. Now check this twosome out. |
