What’s Flammable And What Isn’t
Salvation provides us with the foundation of Jesus Christ. The next building procedure is sanctification. We can use the Fruit of the Spirit materials in the building of our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Or, we can only do good to those who are good to us. We can greet only our brothers, our fellow Christians, or we can open Christian relationships with those who need Jesus.
The materials of the Fruit of the Spirit are nonflammable. The materials of selfishness and being exclusive are flammable. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If we hate our enemies, we are building with flammable materials. If we only love those who love us, we are building with flammable materials.

There are a lot of Christians who only care about the fact that they are going to heaven. They have failed to concern themselves with how this life affects the quality of their life in heaven. Because of their ignorance concerning how the Kingdom of God works, they are using all their time on this earth living for the things of this earth. They do a little work on Kingdom issues. They share their faith with a person every now and then. But, for the most part, they live as if this world is all that really matters.
This Scripture in 1 Corinthians 3:15 describes one of the most disappointing possibilities for a Christian entering eternity. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
