Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

When Jesus Speaks, The Poor In Spirit Listen
Mat 11:2-5 (NIV) When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask Him, “Are You the One Who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.”

Isn’t the good news supposed to be preached to everyone? Yes. But only the poor in spirit listen and hear it. In the world system (the physical realm), being poor means that a person’s life is extremely limited.
They don’t have the resources to do much of anything. It is the opposite for us who are learning how to live in the Kingdom of God system (the spirit realm).

Who would have thought that being poor in spirit would be the door into everything valuable. When we start realizing we really, really need God for everything, that we are devoid of anything good and important, and that our situation is intense desperation; it is then that we start turning to God for all the issues of our life and ministry. That is being poor in spirit.
