Selfishness
Selfishness is a big issue in keeping mercy from flowing in and through our lives. Love has to be filling our hearts in order for us to WANT to let Jesus do His work through us. The cares, pain, and pressures of life can keep our eyes on our own needs and concerns.
Our attention can be pulled inside our heart and life to such a degree that all we want is for God to keep giving us mercy.

We can feel like our needs are so great we don’t have time for anyone else. The problem with selfishness is it actually keeps us from experiencing mercy. The principles and characteristics of God’s system works by giving what we want to others. Rather than pursuing mercy, we are to give mercy. When we do, we get mercy. This means we are going to have to learn a whole new system that works in a totally different way.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
