Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

It is hard to believe that something like this would be a moment for rejoicing. Why in the world would we be glad when people insult, persecute, and falsely say evil things against us? How is that going to get the Christian movement moving forward? While there are all kinds of people who are desperately seeking the answers to life, there are also people out there fighting truth.

Satan has his people whose life’s work is to stop others from finding out about Jesus. If we are going to reach the honest inquirers, we are going to have to go through the Jesus haters.

We will have to have such a love for the lost that we don’t care what happens to us. That is a hard attitude to come by. Few people have come to the place where they will face whatever comes their way in order to reach people who want to hear about Jesus. Multitudes are out there waiting for their chance. It means that we are going to have to suffer to get to them. That is what Jesus was talking about when He told us we were going to have to take up our cross and follow Him.
