Acts 2:5-8 (NIV) Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language?

Let’s Look At The Questions Again:
  • Do we need more churches? It depends. What kind of churches? Are they chuches where the Holy Spirit is moving?

  • Do we need more ministers? That really depends. Are they ministers that Jesus would put His stamp of approval on? If they aren’t, then they are not going to be an answer to a worldwide Christian movement.

  • Maybe we need more prayer? You would think that this question would have to be answered with a resounding “yes.” But Jesus even challenged this process. He said that the Father wouldn’t even hear certain types of prayers. Are you praying to be seen by men; or, are you praying to be more dependent on God?
  • Could it be that we need more repentance or greater dedication? As you go through this study you will see that Jesus even redefined and challenged these issues and brought them under great scrutiny. What is your motive for repenting and dedicating? Is it for God’s glory or your success? Are you working on your “ministry” or are you reaching out to the lost, the desperate, the hurting, and the needy?
Some of my best answers to those things I consider “Christian” can be blasted out of existence once they are exposed to Jesus’ life and ministry. So, if the answer isn’t necessarily more churches, ministers, prayer, repentance, or dedication . . . what is needed to change your world?
