Mat 5:33-37 (NIV) Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, “Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.” BUT I TELL YOU, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’, and your ‘No’, ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

God-Obscuring Lies

Rom 1:25 (NIV) They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--Who is forever praised. Amen.

When people listen to those who have the spirit of antichrist, they are buying into a lie. They are trading the truth of God for a lie. They start to worship themselves rather than God. That is living a lie.

If we don’t open our life and ministry to Jesus, then we have us as our life and ministry. We are the one we follow, yield to, minister from, and lead others by. It is either us or Jesus that is going to be the influence of the people around us. Our words and actions are either going to be motivated by us or by Jesus. People are either going to get us or Jesus. Our pursuit of Jesus is such a vital thing for us and all those we are going to be living around. Reading and studying the Gospels helps us get and give Jesus in His pure form.
