It’s Either Worry Or Faith
Mat 6:31 (NIV) So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
Sharing sacrificially with the needy will cause worry, if we don’t let Jesus deliver us from it. Sharing sacrificially isn’t a characteristic we are going to be able to live by on our own. This issue is so huge that it is virtually being ignored in most of Christendom. We are struggling with having the kind of time to do the things God has called us to do. If Jesus were to ask us to take care of some ministerial assignment, we would have to call our boss and ask for the day off. |
If Jesus were to ask us to leave our job and come follow Him, we would be faced with an earth shaking decision. Who knows what our decision would be?
The struggle we face between God, the things of God, and the needs of life is a battle to the death. Jesus knows how powerful and how impossible this matter is. But, He is still holding us accountable for it. It will take a miraculous work of God for any of us to win this battle. However, it must be won. To ignore it and not wrestle with it before God is a major mistake. Jesus doesn’t address subjects that can be ignored or put off. This is Jesus and He is calling us to come to Him with all its impossibilities. |
