JESUS’ SERMON: Mat 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

I Tried That Once And It Made Me Depressed
Why should I be sad? I am saved and on my way to heaven. So what there are millions who are lost? Well, none of us would say anything like that. But you can be sure of one thing. I will do everything in my power not to be sad.

Do the things I see on TV concern me? Sure! Do I get sad? I rebuke that sadness in the Name of Jesus! Do I read things in the newspaper that try to depress me? Absolutely! Do I mourn? No, I resist it with God’s word. In Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV) Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared.
This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” No, I don’t mourn! Is that what this Scripture is saying? No. If we don’t allow mourning to come into our life, we are going to refuse to do ministry. Selfishness is going to reign in our life. It is good we are going to heaven. It is not good the lost haven’t been given the chance. We must allow ourselves to become concerned with their plight.

I know God doesn’t want us to go around mourning all the time. But, we all know He wants us to be so moved by the conditions around us that we obey the Great Commission (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:18-20).
