The Holy Spirit is your light for bringing the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry. Jesus Is The Light So The World Will Be Able To See
Mat 4:15-17 (NIV) “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, along the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles--the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” John 1:4-5 (NIV) In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. John 3:19-21 (NIV) This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be SEEN PLAINLY that what He has done has been done through God.” Just like light helps us be able to use our eyes to see what is going on around us, so does the truth of God reveal to us what is truly happening. As children of God, we can see the truth about life. We can see right and wrong, good and bad, truth and lies, and bondage and freedom. The more we want, study, pray, believe, and take faith-action to get more and more of Jesus, the more we move into the light and can see what is real. This makes it possible for us to give the light to those who are seated in great darkness. The Light Of Jesus Is Our Message
1 Pet 2:9 (NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. 1 John 1:5-7 (NIV) This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. We declare the praises of Him Who has called us out of darkness into His wonderful light. This is our message: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. His light has set us free from the darkness of the sin of doing bad things to ourselves, others, and the work of God. It has also set us free to do good things to ourselves, others, and the work of God (Ephesians 2:10). The light gives us sight into the righteousness of Jesus so we will be willing to yield to Him and allow His light to shine through us with no obstructions. Jesus Is Healing Our Spiritual Eyes
Mat 6:22-23 (NIV) “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Luke 11:36 (NIV) Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.” The eyes of our heart have been opened up so we have been able to comprehend God and the things of God (Ephesians 1:15-23). We have been given spiritual sight and made to understand the wonderful things of God. All of the things we have studied, learned, understood, and been able to have applied to our lives has come to us because we have had our eyes opened to God’s powerful, healing light. Jesus has been our light that has shined on all of God’s truth and empowered us to be able to live and minister it. It is such a wonderful privilege to be able to see what we now see. |
Jesus Is The Light That Reveals The Father
John 12:44-50 (NIV) Then Jesus cried out, “When a man BELIEVES in Me, he does not believe in Me only, but in the One Who sent Me. When he LOOKS at Me, he SEES the One Who sent Me. I have come into the world as a light, SO THAT no one who believes in Me should stay in darkness. “As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, BUT TO SAVE IT. There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not accept My words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of My own accord, but the Father Who sent Me commanded Me what to say and how to say it. I know that His command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say.” Acts 26:15-18 (NIV) “Then I [Paul] asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “‘I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have SEEN of Me and what I will SHOW you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to OPEN THEIR EYES and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, SO THAT they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are SANCTIFIED by faith in Me.’ Jesus is the light that is showing us what our heavenly Father is like. John 1:18 (NIV) No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, Who is at the Father’s side, has made Him known. He has helped us love our heavenly Father and appreciate the tremendous benefits of being His child and a citizen of His Kingdom. The Holy Spirit has taken the things of Jesus and helped us cry out abba Father or dear Father to Him because of the great love Jesus has helped us have for Him (Romans 8:15). We are now able to be a servant and a witness of all the things we have seen about the Father. All the things Jesus has made clear to us about Him has given us a message that we submit to. We want everyone everywhere to see what we see concerning our heavenly Father. We want all of them to spend eternity with Him. This great light that Jesus wants to shine through us from Himself is the truth about God. Jesus flowing through us to all those around us will make it possible for them to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). And it will help them love all those around them as they love themselves (Mark 12:31). Let’s Yield To Jesus On Our Inside And Our Outside
Rom 13:12-14 (NIV) The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. It is time to be filled with the light of Jesus and to clothe ourselves with Him (Ephesians 6:10-18). We are to remain IN Him and Him and His words are to remain IN us (John 15:4-17). With us remaining in Jesus and Jesus and His words remaining in us, we will bring the light of Jesus to a world filled with great darkness. People will start SEEING wonderful truths that will show them what is REALLY going on around them. They will be able to see the way, the truth, and the life of Jesus (John 14:6). All of the great things of God will be shining in and through you, as you yield to the life and ministry of Jesus. |
