The Holy Spirit is your power for reconciliation in order to bringing the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry.

We Bring Healing To Breached Relationships

A major part of your ministry is to be able to get along with people. The attitudes and character of Jesus is all about staying in a good relationship with yourself, others, and God. Reconciliation is a process whereby you solve your differences with yourself, other people, and God. It is dealing with a breach in relationships.

Rom 5:10 (NIV) For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were RECONCILED to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been RECONCILED, shall we be saved through His life!

Sin caused a breach in your relationship with God. You were seperated from God (spiritually dead); Jesus brought reconciliation between you and your heavenly Father. Now God is asking you to reconcile your differences between you and those you no longer are willing to be friends with. This, of course, is not saying that you should reconcile with dogs, hogs, or wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:6; 15). It is only addressing those relationships where it is safe to deal with those people.

God’s Gifts Are For Reconciling Relationships

One of the major parts of your ministry will consist of reconciliation. The ministry gifts of Jesus (1 Corinthians 12:5), the power gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4), and the ministerial plans of your heavenly Father (1 Corinthians 12:6) will all play a very important part in helping you get reconciliation with those you have, are, or will deal with.

Eph 4:11 (NIV) It was He [Jesus] Who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him Who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, AS EACH PART DOES ITS WORK.

Reconciliation Produces A Healthy Body Of Christ

These ministerial services that are flowing out of each of us are designed to heal the relationships we are involved in. They are to keep you in a love relationship with God, yourself, and other people. This brings health to the whole body of Jesus. It causes you to be able to function in unity and great skill. Jesus is able to get His work done without having to deal with damaged and diseased members of His body.

The world is being changed by Him because He is getting complete cooperation from all of the members of His body. If you don’t yield to through cooperation and become a part of all the Christians, ministries, and ministry gifts of Jesus, then you will be a problem in Jesus’ body.

A Lack Of Reconciliation Damages Jesus’ Body

Eph 4:17-19 (NIV) So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

Eph 4:20-24 (NIV) You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him in accordance with the truth that is IN Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Getting Reconciliation Produces A Ministry Of Reconciliation

As you get the true righteousness and holiness that comes through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21), you are able to minister it to those around you. You are able to take the breached relationships of all these people and bring them back into a love relationship with God, themselves, and others.

2 Cor 5:18-19 (NIV) All this is from God, who RECONCILED us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of RECONCILIATION: that God was RECONCILING the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of RECONCILIATION.

Reconciliation Is Brought About Through The Power Gifts

The power gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to you to help with this ministry.

1 Cor 12:8-10 (NIV) To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

The Holy Spirit is giving you messages of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues so as to bring healing to healable relationships. This power is for healing and not for show or to impress people. It is to bring unity so that the message of Jesus can move forward into all the world.
