The Holy Spirit is your peace for bringing the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry. A Pure Heart Opens
The Doors To Peacemaking 1 Pet 1:22 (NIV) Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. The first three characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit are love, joy, and peace. Love makes it possible for us to be able to maintain peace with other people. It also helps us bring peaceful relationships between people of conflict. With a pure heart we can start living a pure life of peace that has come through the life and ministry of Jesus. Luke 2:13-14 (NIV) Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.” The angelic announcement of Jesus’ arrival on earth proclaimed peace for all people on whom His favor rests. This is Who He is and what He offers. As Christians, we are able to open our heart of purity to this peace and then make it available to all we minister to. It Starts With A Peace Between Us And Our Heavenly Father
Rom 5:1-2 (NIV) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Salvation starts us off with peace. It brings peace between us and God which makes it possible to start us on the road of sanctification that will give us peace with the people around us. The sermon on the mount is providing us with all the information we need to have peace with God, ourselves, and others. Phil 4:6-7 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. God is guarding our hearts and minds so that we are filled with His peace. It is impossible for us to be peacemakers, if we don’t have peace inside us. So, He is giving us peace in the thoughts of our mind and in the feelings of our heart. If peace dominates our thoughts and feelings, our words and actions will be ones of being peaceful and being able to bring peace to others. If we are anxious about anything, it attacks our peace and causes us to think and feel disturbing things. We become so busy with these thoughts and feelings that we are unable to have peace or be a peacemaker. So God opens the door for us to be able to come to Him with the things that concern us. We start out with our list of all the wonderful things God has already done for us. We start worshipping, praising, and thanking Him for all these things. After all this worship, praise, and thanksgiving brings a new feeling of joy into our heart, we are ready to bring our petitions (requests) to God. Our love, joy, and peace that comes through worship, praise, and thanksgiving will build and maintain a stable foundation of faith in us. Our petitions will be requests that are solidly locked into faith. We will know He is going to do the very best for us and those around us because of all the things He has already done. The Good News Brings Peace To The Unsaved
Luke 10:3 (NIV) Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. A major part of the peace we bring to people comes through the good news message. Acts 10:36 (NIV) You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, Who is Lord of all. We are bringing peace to the hearts of the unsaved. This is a part of your peacemaking ministry. Jesus’ Peace Destroys Fear
If the problems of your life or the problems of the ministry create trouble and fear in you, then it will damage your peace. So, Jesus has put a type of peace in you that believes in God’s protection and supply.

John 14:27 (NIV) Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. This peace is based on the provisions of God rather than the circumstances of life. It helps you focus on God’s love and power rather than feeling fear based on the things that have or might happen to you. John 16:33 (NIV) I have told you these things, so that IN Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. We start with the peace we have been given from Jesus; then we allow the fruit of the Spirit to flow out of us in ministry. When we run into ministerial problems, we keep our eyes on the fact that Jesus has overcome the world. Things may seem impossible at the moment; but, if we stay in peace, God will respond to our faith and change our circumstances by His supernatural power. Jesus’ Peace Empowers Us To Demonstrate His Character
Rom 12:18 (NIV) If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. If it isn’t up to us, then we can’t bring peace to a situation; but, if it is within our control, it is our assignment to live at peace with everyone. This passage then goes on to tell us how to bring peace to those around us. Rom 12:19-21 (NIV) Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is Mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 1 Cor 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the congregations of the saints. We are to be peacemakers in all issues of the church. We are to help the whole body of Christ get along with each other. Let God use you to bring order, unity, and cooperation between all Christian organizations, churches, and people. This will bring a mighty move of God to the hurting people of this world. We Can Now Bring Peace To Everyone
Eph 2:11-19 (NIV) Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)--remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, Who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household. It is also our responsibility to bring peace between us and the Jews. The gospel message shows us and them that Jesus is our Messiah and theirs. Jesus is the unifying power to bring the people of the Old Testament together with the people of the New Testament. Israel with all its promises has been united with the gentiles. The gentiles now have the same father in Abraham through faith (Romans 4:16-24). All the promises made to all the Jews have been made available to all people everywhere. Eph 4:2-6 (NIV) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called--one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Now, rather than there being Jews and Gentiles, we can all be united together in Jesus and be called Christians. |
