The Holy Spirit is your instructor for bringing the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry.

As we have reviewed John 16:13-15 over and over again, we have seen that the Holy Spirit is taking the place of the physical presence of Jesus. He has been teaching you the Bible by telling you what each Scripture means (John 16:13-15); He has been empowering you and helping you overcome the misdeeds of your body (Romans 8:13); He has given the life of Jesus to your body (Romans 8:11); He has been assisting you with fulfilling Matthew 7:7-11 by empowering your prayer times (Romans 8:26-27); and He has been turning you into a person who has the character of Jesus by providing you with the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

The Holy Spirit is teaching, empowering, transforming, and preparing you for being able to yield to all Jesus is. He has been using others so as to help you be a good candidate for Jesus flowing in and through you to the desperate lives of others.

The Members Of Jesus’ Body Are Working To Help You

Eph 4:11-12 (NIV) It was He [Jesus] Who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.

The Holy Spirit is going to be taking these things of Jesus and helping you become a growing part of the body of Jesus.

He is speaking to those who are more mature, more trained, and have grown more spiritually and is giving them wonderful things to provide you. The whole body of Christ is devoted to making sure you have what you need so you can be built up in Jesus.

The Fullness Of Jesus Is The Goal

Eph 4:13-14 (NIV) Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

The Holy Spirit is helping you to cooperate with Jesus so you can be involved in incredible works of service. Rather than being defeated by false teaching, craftiness of men, and deceitful scheming, you will be more than conquerors through Him Who loved us (Romans 8:37). You will be living the victorious Christian life and therefore able to help others do the same. Jesus is the victorious life; He will provide you with a life that is very powerful and successful. He will help you touch the lives of others with His power, love, grace, and healing.

You Will Be Part Of The Body Of Jesus

Eph 4:15-16 (NIV) Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him Who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

By learning how to yield to Jesus’ life and ministry, you will be able to work together with other dynamic Christians who are also yielding to His life and ministry. All of you will have accepted Jesus as your head. Like the human head, you, as a member of His body, will be receiving instructions from Jesus that will help everyone work together in love. Because everyone is receiving their instructions from Jesus, you will be able to have unity, cooperation, coordination, and oneness in all you do. Like a well-trained human body, you will see skill, talent, abilities, and success on a God-sized level. You will see all the members of the body of Christ working together, as they receive information and instructions from their head, Jesus.

Jesus starts His disciples out by giving them tests. These tests will be tests of obedience. If a person obeys a command, then they are being responsive to their head, Jesus. If they are sluggish or resistive, then they are a handicapped member in His body. Let’s take a look at the people Jesus gave His FULL attention to.
