The Holy Spirit is your Leader for living the life of Jesus and for you yielding to the ministry of Jesus. Things are going to be done through His power that cannot be produced by us humans. When we are using methods that are pretty much the same as any business or corporation in order to try to reach people, we have given up the life and ministry of Jesus.

The message and ministry of Jesus’ spread throughout Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and beyond by the supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Let’s take a look at what kind of assignment Jesus gave His disciples just before He left them.

Luke 24:46-52 (NIV) He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what My Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed WITH POWER from on high.”

When He had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

They had completed their training with Jesus and were now waiting for the Holy Spirit to set the stage for how He wanted to reach the people. There was no strategizing, planning, organizing, or systematizing. Why? They were WAITING, LISTENING, SEEKING, and PURSUING God and His plan. Nothing was going to happen until God did what He needed to do to get things going.

Acts 1:3-9 (NIV) After His suffering, He showed Himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

On one occasion, while He was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but WAIT for the gift My Father promised, which you have heard Me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

So when they met together, they asked Him, “Lord, are You at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His Own authority.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.

Their assignment is a little bit different from yours, they had Jesus there training them in His physical body. You have the Holy Spirit training you by living with you in your body. They received the Holy Spirit after their training; you get Him at the moment you accept Jesus as your Lord, Savior, and King.

Rom 8:9 (NIV) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God LIVES IN YOU. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

We have to have the Holy Spirit in us right from the beginning. We have to have Him teaching, training, explaining, and empowering us like Jesus did with the disciples He trained in His physical body. From the very beginning we have been being exposed to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. However, the system of Jesus for training disciples has been in place.

Just like Jesus’ disciples had to drop what they were doing and follow Him, we had to start giving our time, effort, money, and energy to wanting, studying, praying, believing, and taking faith-action as the Holy Spirit led us.

The more time we have spent with the Holy Spirit, the more training we have received. During those times when we were distracted by our body, the world, and the devil, we weren't growing and being trained. Every minute wasted was an extension of the time it took for us to get here. If we were distracted for a year, then it took a year longer to be ready for this moment in our lives. But, we finally made it to this place where we are WAITING on the move of God to start us in the ministry He has called us to.
