The Holy Spirit gives you the equipment for bringing the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry. It is true that you get the Holy Spirit into your body the moment you receive salvation. However, it isn’t true you got all you need from Him at that moment. You got Him; but you need all He has to offer.

There are a lot of things the Holy Spirit has to offer that we need to learn how to receive. We have been learning how to allow Him to interpret God’s Word to us. That is us yielding to something He has to offer. We have been allowing Him to empower our prayers and to help our heart express its emotions of groaning and crying out to God. That too is a yielding to His provisions. But, He has a lot more He wants to give you.

Gifts For Doing The Ministry Of Jesus

1 Cor 12:4-6 (NIV):

There are different kinds of GIFTS, but the same Spirit.

There are different kinds of SERVICE, but the same Lord.

There are different kinds of WORKING, but the same God works all of them in all men.

Power Gifts For Doing The Ministry Of Jesus

1 Cor 12:7-12 (NIV) Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the MESSAGE OF WISDOM, to another the MESSAGE OF KNOWLEDGE by means of the same Spirit, to another FAITH by the same Spirit, to another GIFTS OF HEALING by that one Spirit, to another MIRACULOUS POWERS, to another PROPHECY, to another DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN SPIRITS, to another SPEAKING IN DIFFERENT KINDS OF TONGUES, and to still another the INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES.

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines. The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.

The Holy Spirit has GIFTS, the ones that are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 that we just read. Jesus has works of SERVICE listed in Ephesians 4:11.

Service Or Ministry Gifts For Doing The Ministry Of Jesus

Eph 4:4-13 (NIV) There is one body and one Spirit-- just as you were called to one hope when you were called--one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.” (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

It was He Who gave some to be APOSTLES, some to be PROPHETS, some to be EVANGELISTS, and some to be PASTORS and TEACHERS, to prepare God’s people for WORKS OF SERVICE, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

God’s Ministry-Of-Jesus Plan For You

Our heavenly Father then takes the gifts of the Spirit and the works of service of Jesus and mixes them together to form a special type of ministry for each individual person. There are different kinds of WORKING, but the same God works all of them in all men (1 Corinthians 12:6). These are things you have been looking into all during your wanting, studying, praying, believing, and taking faith-action. Your interests, talents, skills, training, and passions have been being shaped by the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and your heavenly Father. He has been working you into His world-wide Christian movement as a special member in His body.

God will be taking the special knowledge, understanding, and wisdom He has been giving you and cause it to flow through this special plan He has for you. He has been causing you to have special interests that have directed you into Scriptures that mean the most to you. The Holy Spirit has been giving you understanding that prepared you for God’s special work His is calling you to. Wisdom has been flowing into you empowering you to apply things not only to your life but also to this unique ministry Jesus is going to use you in.

Your Bible knowledge, understanding, and wisdom will be brought together with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gift from Jesus, and the plan from your heavenly Father. They will form the life and ministry of Jesus that God has prepared you for.
