The Holy Spirit is your source for the provisions of God that will replace all your human effort, so you can bring the life and ministry of Jesus into your life and ministry.

Many are ignoring the message of Jesus. They are developing their own belief system. They act like a person can get in their car and drive any direction they want to, and as long as they “believe” they are going in the right direction, they will end up where they wanted to go. People are betting their eternal destiny on such an ignorant philosophy.

Jesus is making it clear what is at stake in eternity. He is letting people know how important it is to avoid hell and spend eternity in heaven. He is making it clear that there is a heaven and a hell. The Bible is also making it clear through the rest of the writings of the Holy Spirit.

2 Pet 1:21 (NIV) For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Here is the way all of the Bible has been written. The Holy Spirit caused it to be written just like He wanted it to be laid out. Then He has been protecting it and making sure it has been preserved for all of us. He has also been convicting all of us when we go against it. And, He has been explain it to all those who WANT to know what it really means.

But, there are false prophets and false teachers who are writing books who are lying against the truth of God. They are writing under the influence of Satan. They are trying to convince people that there is no God, there is no eternity, and there is no set of absolutes for how to live this life now. Others of Satan’s false prophets and false teachers are saying there is life after death, but Jesus isn’t the way to enter it. This is what the Bible says about them.

2 Pet 2:1-3 (NIV) But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

2 Pet 2:4-9 (NIV) For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes,

and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)--if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.

We have the Bible and all the Scriptures that explain the full truth about heaven and hell. We mature Christians, mentors, and ministers are all making our decisions based on ALL the truth. Therefore, we owe it to everyone else that they be able to know what they are facing in eternity.

Luke 12:5 (NIV) But I [Jesus] will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him Who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him.

We aren’t trying to scare them out of hell and into heaven. That, of course, will not work. We are trying to inform them concerning the truth about eternity. What a person believes doesn’t change the way eternity will be. Eternity will unfold the way God has designed it and the way He has explained it in the Bible. He has given us the truth on it and it is every Christian, mentor, and minister’s responsibility to make ALL OF IT clear to everyone.

Rev 20:11-15 (NIV) Then I saw a great white throne and Him Who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from His presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Human effort is NOT the way for us to be saved and spend eternity with God. Eph 2:8-9 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.

Salvation brings everyone who puts their faith and trust in Jesus into the eternal Kingdom of God. The ONLY ones who will be SAVED from eternal damnation will be those who accept Jesus as their Lord, Savior, and King (Romans 10:9-10). That is the truth about eternity. All the people you meet who are trying to get into eternity by any other means will fail. And, they will not get a second chance to change their methods for preparing for eternity.

Heb 9:27-28 (NIV) Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are WAITING for Him.

Heb 2:1-4 (NIV) We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

It is vital that we help as many as is possible to know there is an eternity, that everyone is going to face judgment, and that we all need to be preparing for it the correct way. There are only two choices we can make. We can either choose to live inside God or outside God. Inside God is everything anyone would ever want. Outside God is everything no one would ever want. The moment you take God out of a being’s existence, that is the moment you have hell. Those who reject God by neglect, denial, or unbelief will be choosing an eternity outside God. That is an important truth that everyone needs to know.

Once we have shown a person all the benefits of becoming a Christian and they decide they don’t want those benefits, it is important that we also show them the consequences of that rejection. We aren’t trying to force them to change their mind; we are simply informing them of what they will be facing in eternity. Everyone who rejects Jesus deserves to be warned and given all the facts. If we have given them all the positive and negative facts about eternity, we have fulfilled our responsibility in that person’s life. If they won’t give us a chance to give them all the facts, then we have still fulfilled our responsibility with them.
