Here is Jesus’ goal for those who have faith in Him.

John 14:12 (NIV) I tell you the truth, ANYONE who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

The goals expressed in this Scripture more than likely exceed any of our goals we have had for our life and ministry of helping hurting people. He has a dynamic plan for you; and that plan is established in this Scripture. You just have to make sure you don’t give up, throw in the towel, or quit. You are going to have to be willing to press forward until you are experiencing all He has planned for you.

The desires He has placed in us are there for a reason. Sometimes they may seem to look and sound egotistical, and, sometimes they are ego motivated. But, as we have seen, that doesn’t stop Jesus from pointing these motives in the right direction. If we can understand that Jesus is bigger than our weaknesses, that He knows the state of our heart, and He will work beyond those weaknesses, He will fulfill His plan in our lives. As we saw in John 14:12 above, all He is asking is that we have faith in Him; then He will see to it that we live the plan.

Whether we are confident in the gifts God has placed in us but haven’t fully seen how God plans to use them, or we are a person that finds it very difficult to believe that we have anything to offer God to use, the truth is God did create us for a purpose. He has plans He wants to fulfill. He promises that His plans will be better than we can imagine.

Jer 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Some of us have this feeling of dissatisfaction. We are not happy with the status quo. We look at the condition of the world and want to do something about it. Rather than pointing out how bad things are and talking about how unbelievable it is, we get upset and want to change it. The big question is, what can be done about a world that is in so much trouble? Money hasn’t helped, education hasn’t helped, government hasn’t helped, and religion hasn’t helped. Where do we see the type of change that would make our lives and the world a better place? This will sound somewhat simplistic; but, it comes in an one-on-one level in the transformed life of a new believer in Jesus. A person, whose life has been really messed up, is totally changed, and is heading in the opposite direction, is the answer to the world situation. Still, with billions of people in the world needing the message of Jesus, an one-on-one change doesn’t sound like the answer.
