Your friend my not be familiar with the attitudes in a hospital. Or, they may have had some bad experiences in a hospital. However, the true purpose in a hospital is to help people get well. Spiritual diseases (sins) are typically viewed with a totally different perspective. Even those spiritual diseases in your friend can be more about guilt than repentance. Jesus wants to lead you and your friend into the same love, concern, skill, and non-judgmental attitudes as professionals do in a hospital.

Rom 2:3-4 (NIV) So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance? Jesus is leading you and your friend into attitudes that make it possible to bring healing to those people around you. Just like the disease in a hospital is attacked, so will the sin in a person. But, the person is loved and ministered to as the patient.

Your friend may not want to turn their church, their family, their marriage, their business, or their relationships into a spiritual hospital. They may still be internal, preoccupied with their problems, and overwhelmed with their responsibilities. But, let Jesus help you teach them the wonderful principle of giving: Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
