John 15:5 (NIV) I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. Jesus has a wonderful life for you. However, it comes to you like a branch attached to a grape vine. A spiritual connection is created by you spending time with Jesus.

If a man remains in Me and I in him: Sure! If you do this, incredible miracles will be worked into your life. But, you must face the real facts of life. There are a lot of things you have determined to do and didn’t do them. You have started a lot of things and aren’t doing them now. This Jesus Life Book program must not be one of those shortcomings.

1 Cor 10:13 (NIV) No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man: You may be one of the most abitious people on the planet. But, when it comes to spiritual things, everything changes. All your human effort, human reasoning, and world training will not work in Christianity. Satan, people, you, circumstances, and a whole lot of other things will do their best to keep you from growing in Jesus.

What does work in Christianity? Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 (NIV) “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. These are the only three things that work in all of Christianity. The first thing you must accept about Christianity is the last part of John 15:5.

Jesus said in John 15:5 (NIV): “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. Just like a branch withers and dies, if you cut it from its branch, so will you fail at Christianity without being connected to Jesus. But, knowing that to be true isn’t enough. How do you remain connected to Jesus?

Mat 7:8 (NIV) For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. If you find yourself not wanting to read and pray one day, ask Jesus to empower you to do it. If you skip a day, forget to do it, or something happens that crowds it out, ask Jesus for His help protecting you.

Making up your mind won’t work. Getting mad or upset with yourself won’t work. Trying harder won’t work. Trying to get into a routine won’t work. Doing it for fifteen days straight won’t work. Setting up an accountability partner will help but won’t work in the long run. But, if you look to Jesus and ask for His help every time you miss, He will empower you to make it a lifestyle.

Mat 7:11 (NIV) If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! What do you do, if you forget to ask for Jesus’ help, when you skip a day? You ask Jesus to help you not forget to ask.

James 4:1-2 (NIV) What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.

If you are struggling with your everyday life, if you are trying to get ahead, if you are trying to learn how to be the best, if you are trying to learn how to win, and if you are trying to learn how to succeed at life, you need Jesus’ training. Whether you are dealing with personal problems, relational problems, financial issues, emotional struggles, or physical handicaps, you need the Biblical principles to do it.

Jesus needs you to choose a time, where you can always be able to remember it. It has to be a time when you can do it naturally. It needs to be a time and place where there aren’t many interruptions. You need a quiet time and place where you can spend time with Jesus and His principles. It needs to be a place where you can pray and talk to Jesus privately.
