Most training programs, that help you train into a certain profession, will present the basic, most simple information in the beginning and then build on it each day. Jesus has provided you with concepts from the Bible in a way, so you can learn a principle; and, then you will be able to use it to learn the next concept. Each day’s training will give you enough information for you to start using it to succeed at life. And, it will get you prepared to learn the next Biblical principle.

As was said, progressive training will be like walking up a flight of stairs. Each step will take you higher and closer to your goals and the special plans Jesus has for you. Like steps in a stair case, each step will only raise you just enough for you to get to the next step. But, if you hadn’t taken that previous step, you wouldn’t be in a position to take the next step. The stairs may be taking you up several stories; but, if you take them one at a time, you will eventually make it to the top.

Having the rest of the day and the weekend free to do other things is important. Just like everyone else, in the beginnings you will be trying to learn and apply the information through your own efforts and skills. All Christians start studying the Bible using human techniques. No one starts out doing it right because that is the only method we all know. But, this method typically gives us stress and often creates a certain amount of resistance to Jesus’ information. Starting out using human effort and reasoning and trying to apply world training is a normal reaction to the beginnings of your Biblical studies. It will seem like there is something pressuring you from the Bible. However, it isn’t the Bible; it is your method of studying it; it’s your dependency on yourself. Jesus has a way for you to study that takes the pressure off of you. World training and human effort put all the requirements to discover, understand, apply, and get good at everything they presented to you.

As you learn how to pray and get Jesus’ help with the information, you will start enjoying getting new truths each day. The rewards of personal and spiritual growth will make the experience worth it. As you give up human effort and world training and start letting Jesus empower you, great things start to happen in your life. As you stop seeing yourself exclusively responsible for what you read, a wonderful relationship with Jesus develops.

Jesus’ goal is for you to be able to see that He is actually helping you with real life. He will be talking to and dealing with things stored in your heart, your mind, your belief system, and your philosophies for life. And, you and He will need time to work on these principles, truths, and philosophies. He will help you learn how to make changes to the way you approach your studies and your everyday living.

Jesus’ objectives and the Bible principles in these studies are leading you into enjoying life. If a married couple try to improve their marriage relationship by picking on each other every time they get together, the “improvements” will come through conflict, stress, agitation, and confrontation. Things may change in the relationship; but, they won’t like each other very much. Jesus shows you how to make changes that bring joy, happiness, love, enjoyment, and unity. He wants you to be so excited about life that you start each day with attitudes and character traits that enhance it.

Rather than you looking to people, events, opportunities, and accomplishments to bring you happiness, you start each day already filled with happiness, joy, peace, and satisfaction. You will soon learn that your life is much better, when you succeed at living the Biblical principles. The success in your life will come from Jesus helping you with the successes that you are applying. He will actually be in you applying the truths of the Bible. In other words, rather than just feeling good about the fact that you have learned something, you will feel really good about the fact that Jesus has empowered you to live a much better way of life.
