At first you probably won’t see a lot of difference in the results of your studies. But, just like your studies are progressive by increasing and building on each day’s ideas, the results and benefits will be accumulative too. If you have seen a house be built, when they start digging in the ground and putting in a foundation, it all looks flat and uneventful. But, as the walls start going up and a second story is added, things start looking like progress is being made. It took you twelve years to get through high school.

Just like letters and numbers weren’t just useless information, so Biblical principles aren’t just church information. The problem is, you have been using the world’s alphabet and numerical system. Soon you will learn that none of it will work in Christianity, the Jesus-life, or eternity. If you went to another country where they used an entirely different writing system and tried to use your alphabet and numerical system, even if you did it all right, as to arrangment and spelling. They would not be able to understand what you were doing.

You could have figured out a way to use first grade training for the rest of your life. Even though you spelled words wrong, people could have figured out what you were trying to say. You could have taught yourself a mathmatical system that worked for you. But, when you wanted to move into using advanced math, so you could get a better job, you would have had to unlearn your way and learn the way that had the potential of advancement. God is introducing you into the supernatural world of genius on a God level.

World training and human effort and reasoning work well in the Kindergarten way of living. As long as all you have to do is produce human things, you can function pretty well. It is when you pick up the Bible and expect to read and understand it, that you have just moved into the supernatural world of God. It is like a first grader trying to read advanced calculus. They may have to learn a few things before they try to apply it to their life. But, with Jesus, He will elevate your brain, mind, and heart to a child of God level, so you can understand and apply it.

Jesus isn’t going to be pressuring you to improve; He is going to be empowering you to improve. It isn’t what you can do for Him; it is what He can do for you.

Even with a two-to-three-page-a-day study system, you will discover things that will try to keep you from even being able to do that. There will be real temptations to set these studies aside “for the day” or “for a little while.” It will seem like you just need to “take care of a few things first.” You will need to pray and ask Jesus to give you the power to be faithful to your studies.

Let’s take getting enough sleep as an example, there may be times when you don’t think you have time to get some rest and go to sleep. You may feel like you have so much to get done that you can’t take out time to get some rest. And, you might get by with missing your time of rest and sleep for a while. But, as you know, you will soon get so tired that your thoughts and efforts will become useless. Jesus’ Biblical principles are like food, water, air, and rest; it may “seem” like you don’t have time; but, you really do. They will enhance your productivity so much that they will make the time and effort worthwhile and very productive. They will save you time, effort, and money in the long run.

You may be a person who puts a lot of pressure on yourself; or, you may be a person who hates having any pressure put on you. This simple study system isn’t designed to put pressure on you. If you feel any pressure, it is only coming from you and the enemy of your life. It may feel like pressure trying to learn how to drive a car; but, learning how to drive a car will take the pressure off of you having to walk everywhere.

Don’t allow feelings of responsibility, goal reaching, and personal needs drive you. Ask Jesus to help you have the feelings, attitudes, and motives that will help you learn these truths through joy and happiness. Only hope, dreams, faith, and the pursuit of happiness can help you keep studying. It will be like studying for and getting your driver’s license; the car will provide you with a transforming power. It will revolutionize you for the rest of your life. That is the way Jesus’ principles work; they transform and empower your life.
