If you just read two to three pages of “something” five days a week, you won’t have much hope of getting improvements in your life; the subject material is vital to the process. Just like there are all kinds of foods you can eat during your day, there are all kinds of materials you can read. If you eat good food, you will get good vitamins, nutrients, and minerals for energy and building-blocks for your body. If you read good material, you will get good knowledge, understanding, wisdom, with spiritual and personal growth for your life.

We all need certain experts to guide us as we get trained for various areas of our life. If you take advantage of the right people, you can save yourself from having to learn everything the hard way. There are people who have the training, experience, and teaching abilities to save you a lot of difficulties in their field of expertise. Some of these professional teachers are pretty good, others are very good, and some are the very best. You should only want to be trained by the best, so you can be the best.

If you take a university class that gives tests, it is expected that you learn exactly what is being taught. When you take the test, if you put down an answer that you know is right, but, if it isn’t the one the professor is looking for, it will typically be marked wrong. You are being held to the opinions of the professor. You aren’t being given the freedom to learn those things that actually work in real life. With Jesus, you will be able to use life-results as your test for learning truth; if it is true, then it will work in real life.

If a professor is a “pretty” good instructor with a “pretty” good education and a “pretty” good teaching ability, then your education will usually be only pretty good. But, if you are being trained by one of the best, then you will have the opportunity to get the best education possible; that is why you yield to the Bible and Jesus to instruct you; He and the Bible are the very best!

Here’s the big issue that you need to consider: Christian leaders come from all walks of life; some of them are very successful in life. Others are very good at speaking, leading, teaching, and counseling; but, if you were to go where they live, you would see a very different life from what they present to the public. There is actually only One Teacher, Leader, Speaker, and Counselor Who lives those things He presents. He and the Book He caused to be written are the only material you can totally trust your life to.

There are a lot of methods for presenting Christianity and a life with Jesus. Some present their thoughts on the subject; others present their laws and rules on the subject; and still others just throw out the general material and leave it up to us to figure out what it all means. Do you really consider the Bible to be Jesus’ final authority for what Christianity is all about? Then a lot of Scriptures will have to be used to present Christianity. If Jesus, Who caused the Bible to be written, is the final authority for what it all means, then you must allow Him to give you His interpretation.
