Jesus created you to enjoy facing various uncertainties in your life. We all like a little bit of risk and danger; but, we all have a line we have drawn, as to what we consider too much risk and too much danger. Here is the Bible principle that helps you understand the kind of life Jesus offers you.

1 Cor 10:13 (NIV) No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Let Jesus break this down for you, so you can see how real life works through His power and provisions. The first thing has to do with the challenges, difficulties, and temptations that come everyone’s way:

• No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. If we decide to involve Jesus in our life, He won’t take our life away from us nor will He make it boring. And, He won’t cause or allow it to become strange or even unique; we will all face the same basic challenges everyone else faces.


• And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Now, here is where a life with Jesus is different from a life without Him; He will regulate the difficulties, challenges, and problems that come your way, so that none of them are impossible, overwhelming, or devastating. He will teach and empower you to win.


• But when you are tempted... In life, there is never a question as to whether or not you will face problems, difficulties, challenges, and temptations. The word “when” is letting you know that you, who are working with Jesus, will continue to face all the typical and normal issues of life. He isn’t going to take all the “fun” out of you having challenges and risks in your life. The challenges you need, the competition you need, the risks you need, and the tests you face will be just right for keeping your life from being boring.
  
  Your life will be challenging; but, Jesus will be training you and empowering you to know how to win at it. He is willing to regulate them and make them work out for your good. This is the relationship available for all who want to establish and maintain a relationship with Him. Life is going to have problems, difficulties, challenges, and temptations. Your choice is, do you want to face them with Jesus or without Him?


• Jesus will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. Once you have established a relationship with Jesus, He gets involved in all your situations and difficulties of life. And, He makes sure they never become too difficult for you. He also makes sure you have some kind of an escape route. These two benefits aren’t available to you prior to your getting together with Jesus. But when you do, it is still up to you, as to whether or not you take that avenue of escape. You will always have a God-given free will.

What is being said is, Jesus is your best source for developing a reliable Life-Map. Rather than you going off on your own and deciding where you want your life to go, you could involve Jesus in the process of drawing up your Life-Map. The first thing most people want to know, when they start thinking about including Jesus in their plans is, does He take over? What kind of relationship will I have with God, the Creator of the universe? Will He take advantage of His vast superiority?

Some people are so discouraged with the way they have been running their own life that they want someone to take over and do it for them. Other people have such self-confidence, they don’t want to trust anyone with their life and its goals. Working with Jesus is like working with a professional coach. He isn’t going to do it for you; but, you don’t have to do it alone. He is far superior to an expert; He is far greater than a coach or personal trainer; but, He is very careful with how He helps you.

Let’s say you hired a very powerful and successful company to assist you in a business venture. With all their resources, the potential of you being able to get a great start on your new plan would be incredible. But, what if they stole your ideas and made them a part of their portfolio? That would mean you chose a company that had the potential of helping you but they lacked the integrity.

The main aspect of Jesus is the fact that He has incredible honesty and integrity. He loves, respects, and honors you and all your wishes and desires. He is like a great and powerful company that has incredible potential of helping you succeed at a new venture. But, He also has all the needed character traits that make Him completely trustworthy.

Whenever you establish a “working relationship” with a company or person, you can enter into that relationship blindly or you can work out the details. If you enter it blindly, a lot of misunderstandings can be created. You can be assuming that the relationship will be one way and end up being something else. Jesus wants you to know a few things about Who He is and how He operates; that eliminates all confusion, misunderstandings, and disappointments.

Here is the main principle Jesus uses in His relationship with us humans. He won’t do anything in your life without your permission; and, He won’t do anything to or for you that He knows isn’t good for you or those around you. But, even if He knows it is good for you and those around you, He still won’t do it without your permission.
