God Did This!
1 Sam 1:10-11 (NIV) In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. And she made a vow, saying, “O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” Out of all the children in the world, God picked you to be born through your mother. No matter how you feel about how she raised you, God did not make a mistake and put you with the wrong mother.
Out of all the women in the world, God picked you to have the child you had. He didn’t make a mistake with you either. No matter how you feel about your parenting proceedures. And, no matter how you feel about your child’s behavior, you two were destined by God to be together. It is very important for you and your child to find out what God had in mine when He united you two at conception. Once you two seek God and find out what He wants for your relationship with each other, life for both of you will improve. |
Now It’s Your Turn
The Bible is your guide for building a relationship between the mother and the child. Don’t just be looking for special Scriptures that mention parents and children. The whole Bible is your guide for what you are to be and do. Just because you have a parent/child relationship doesn’t change your relationship with the Bible. Those Scriptures that deal specifically with parent/child relationships are important. But, all the Scriptures in the Bible apply to your relationship with each other.
If you have any bad feeling toward God, you are making a mistake. You don’t want to wait until the judgment day to find out that God really is perfect. And, you don’t want to wait until then to find out what you should have done. Now is the time to listen to the Word of God and let it help you make it right with your parent/child relationship and with God. The Bible is your path into finding out before the judgment day what God expects from this relationship you have with each other. |
